Students must take full advantage of the hours in a day, so that they won’t have to sacrifice their sleeping hours. Intellectual work (either classes or individual study) cannot be efficient if you don’t get enough rest. Napoleon is thought to have said that a man needs six hours of sleep, a woman needs seven and a fool needs eight. We do not agree to this opinion, but we believe that each person has their own sleeping pattern and necessities, and, we consider the quality of sleep to be more important than the quantity. Normally, eight hours should be the adequate amount of sleep for a young student. In order to sleep well, you can use these methods:
a) First, do the basic relaxation exercises described above.
b) In order to stimulate relaxation before going to bed, it is good to take a warm bath (30o Celsius is an appropriate water temperature), but you shouldn’t stay for more than ten minutes in the water.
c) A glass of warm milk drunk before going to bed also encourages sleep.
d) Stop your normal activity two hours before sleep time, in order to give your brain a gradual layoff. Relaxed reading (avoiding creepy of exciting stories) and serene music are good preludes for a good sleep.
e) Don’t let night to be your busy time. At the end of the day, put all your problems aside.
f) Get used to going to bed and getting up at the same hour every evening, respectively morning.
